Uplift Comprehensive Services was founded in 2002 and was originally incorporated as Uplift Residential Services.  Uplift Residential Services began as a spinoff agency of The Uplift Foundation(established April of 2000).  While the Uplift Foundation’s focus was on grant based funding sources, Uplift Residential Services would focus more on managed mental health care.  Our first service was Residential Treatment(level III).  Our Mae-Kin’s Way Facility in Windsor NC opened its doors to its first consumer in 2002.  In 2003 Uplift expanded it’s Residential Treatment Services by adding its Emma’s Hope Facility, also in Windsor as well as its Simon’s Promise Facility in Greenville. 

Uplift operated solely as a Residential provider until 2004 when  it began providing Community Based Services (CBS) and Substance Substance Abuse Prevention.  This began Uplift’s foray in becoming more of a comprehensive provider.  It was then that the proposal was made to change the name from Uplift Residential Services to Uplift Comprehensive Services.

Today, both The Uplift Foundation and Uplift Comprehensive Services work hand in hand to benefit eastern North Carolina communities.  The Uplift Foundation is one of North Carolina’s largest providers for Substance Abuse Prevention, serving 15 counties.  Uplift Comprehensive Services has developed a well rounded treatment milieu that includes:
